It all started with the first\u00a0home Paul purchased before we were married. Step by step, he taught himself how to\u00a0renovate, leading him from one project to the next. In 2018, we moved to Iowa, and by 2019, we were creating what has now become <a href=\"https:\/\/mrpostframe.com\/\">MR Post Frame<\/a>.\u00a0Our YouTube channel was launched with the building of our personal home, the <a href=\"https:\/\/mrpostframe.com\/mad-county-build\/\">Mad County\u00a0Build<\/a>. Paul single-handedly built over 90% of the home, only contracting a few things like\u00a0concrete and drywall. The barndominium is far more than a house\u2014it\u2019s a lifestyle. Many\u00a0people who are dreaming of a barndo also see it as a way to create joy in their lives by incorporating self-sustaining\u00a0measures, finding a little extra space, and making the pace of their lives a little\u00a0slower and lower-maintenance.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"qa-item\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col qa-item-question\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"mob-sub-title\">D.LAB<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Did you ever anticipate identifying with the term \u201ccontent creators\u201d? As we neared the end of our build, we revealed that we\u00a0weren\u2019t 100% sure what material we wanted for the slide. That\u2019s when a follower\u00a0sent us a post by <a href=\"https:\/\/durasein.com\/\">Durasein<\/a>! After seeing the incredible innovation, I knew this was the material\u00a0we had been looking for! It was a natural and easy start to our collaboration because I think we\u00a0were all eager to see what a residential slide could look like!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"qa-item\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col qa-item-question\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"mob-sub-title\">D.LAB<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Paul, your first time working with solid surface was particularly unique. It was incredible to see how it bent with the heat without being ruined. Then there was the\u00a0way it cut clean, making it the perfect material for our slide project.\u00a0While our\u00a0project is more advanced, it was clear that even a beginner\u00a0DIYer could use it and enjoy the\u00a0process.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"qa-item\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col qa-item-question\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"mob-sub-title\">D.LAB<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>You\u2019ve started taking on external projects\u00a0now that the Mad County Build is complete.\u00a0What lessons did you learn from your own home, and how are you\u00a0applying them to your clients\u2019 builds?<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col qa-item-answer\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"mob-sub-title\"><p>PAUL AND EMILY MARSHALL<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We are focused on custom post-frame homes and buildings in the Des Moines area. Most of our clients want to be part of their construction process and tackle parts of the\u00a0build themselves. Knowing that we can help by sharing our\u00a0first-hand experience is\u00a0amazing. In fact, it demanded everything we had physically, mentally,\u00a0and emotionally&#8230;and then some! Our children were incredibly young when this project started, but having them involved as much\u00a0as possible kept us going.
